Daily Trust reports that Mrs Regina Akume, wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), also clinched the party’s return ticket during the APC primary elections held across Benue State on Saturday.
Blessing Onuh, daughter of former Senate President and current National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest for re-election into the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Daily Trust reports that Mrs Regina Akume, wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), also clinched the party’s return ticket during the APC primary elections held across Benue State on Saturday.
The outcome of the primaries has drawn political attention, particularly because of the prominent political alignment of the candidates’ families ahead of the 2027 general elections, where opposition forces, including the ADC coalition led by David Mark, are expected to challenge the ruling APC at the national level.
Mark, a former military officer, currently serves as National Chairman of the ADC, a coalition platform that has increasingly positioned itself as part of opposition efforts to unseat the ruling APC in the next general election cycle.
