Jordanian king and Australian defense minister discuss development in Strait of Hormuz
LONDON: King Abdullah of Jordan met in Amman with Richard Marles, the Australian deputy prime minister and minister for defense, to discuss regional development and security matters.
The meeting on Sunday focused on ways to enhance cooperation in various sectors, particularly military and security-related fields, according to the Petra news agency.
King Abdullah emphasized that any agreement to end the war between the US and Iran must ensure the security of Arab states. He urged greater international efforts to sustain the ceasefire reached in April, Petra added.
Crown Prince Hussein attended the meeting alongside chairman of the joint chiefs of staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, director of the office of his majesty Alaa Batayneh, and Australia’s ambassador to Jordan, Paula Ganly.
