An X post of how a boss who publicly humiliated an intern got his comeuppance is going viral on X. A post shared by an X user called Panashe shared an anecdote of how his boss insulted an intern in front of the entire team for allegedly deleting the client database. The intern looked shaken and near tears. “Nobody defended him, not even me…” he wrote. However, thinks took a dramatic turn when the CEO wandered into the room and demanded who had deleted the client database. The boss pointed the intern without delay, then the intern decided to be brave and take a stand for himself. — NasheCeezet_zw (@NasheCeezet_zw) “The intern quietly said: "I tried to stop him." Silence.” he wrote. It turned out that the boss had totally ignored IT protocol and deleted the wrong server, then wasted no time in shifting the blame to the new hire. The intern has screenshots of the incident. By 5:00 pm the intern still had his job, but the boss was fired. Reacting to the post, another X user recalled a similar incident. “This happened at a bank I worked sometime ago, our Manager mistakenly kicked a network cable in the server room, our HOD tried to beg for him, next thing the ED said since the manager can’t leave the fired our HOD….. such a very nice and generous HOD I have ever come across..”Another mused how authority fails when accountability is exercised. “What happens when the least powerful person in the room turns out to be the only one telling the truth?Because this isn’t just a workplace story, it’s about how quickly authority collapses when accountability is forced into the open.Another comment read: “I firmly believe that you can learn something valuable from anyone, regardless of whether they are your subordinate or younger than you. Empathy is crucial in any workplace.
