Donald Trump is raring for a fight. The President openly solicited contenders on social media on Saturday to primary Colorado Republican Representative Lauren Boebert after she campaigned for Trump-foe Representative Thomas Massie of Kentucky.“Is anyone interested in running against Weak Minded Lauren Boebert in Colorado’s Fourth Congressional District? You remember Lauren moved to the District when it became obvious that she couldn’t win in her original Congressional District (The Third!) — A Carpetbagger, indeed!” Mr Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday.Ms Boebert, who moved to the more conservative 4th district ahead of her 2024 election, appeared with Mr Massie at two campaign events in Kentucky on Friday as he faces a fierce primary challenge from Ed Gallrein, a retired Navy SEAL who has Mr Trump’s endorsement.Mr Massie is struggling to hold onto his seat after facing repeated accusations of disloyalty from President Trump, who he has accused of being in the “Epstein class”.“Donald Trump told us that even though, you know, he had dinner with these kinds of people in New York City and West Palm Beach, that he would be transparent. But he’s not. He’s still in with the Epstein class. This is the Epstein administration,” Mr Massie told ABC’s This Week in February.Mr Massie has long been a thorn in the President’s side, and refused to vote for his signature “Big Beautiful Bill” and has long been a critic of his foreign policy in Venezuela and Iran.Mr Trump blasted Mr Massie as “the Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman in the History of our Country”, and said that Ms Boebert’s decision to campaign for him made her deserving of a primary.“Anybody who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight!” Mr Trump posted.Ms Boebert, who was once kicked out of the Beetlejuice musical after getting caught groping and vaping in the theatre, has been a longtime Trump loyalist, but their relationship has soured in recent days. She clashed with the President after she backed Mr Massie’s bill to release the Epstein files and criticised President Trump after he vetoed legislation that would have completed a project to send drinking water to Southern Colorado in December 2025.“Yes, I saw the President’s post. No, I’m not mad or offended. I knew the risks when I agreed to stand by my friend Thomas Massie,” Ms Boebert posted on X on Saturday.Mr Trump has previously endorsed Ms Boebert, but said he would revoke his endorsement if “right person came along”.“It would be my Honor to withdraw that Endorsement, and endorse a good and proper alternative. Just let me know, or announce your Candidacy, and I will be there for you!” Mr Trump posted. This article originally appeared on NY Post and was reproduced with permissionRead related topics:Donald Trump
