A section of ODM leaders from Kisumu County has warned the party that they will not accept negotiated democracy in the 2027 gubernatorial race, insisting that the electorate must be given a chance to elect leaders of their choice.
Led by Muhoroni MP James Onyango K’Oyoo, Kisumu Central MP Joshua Oron, and more than 20 Members of the Kisumu County Assembly (MCAs), the leaders have vowed to defy the party’s position and chart their own political path if the nominations are not free and fair in the gubernatorial contest.
