The affected graduates, who belong to the institution’s 2019–2024 set, said they graduated in September 2024 but more than two years later, most of them have yet to be mobilized for the mandatory national service scheme.

Scores of graduates from the Department of Political Science Education at Adekunle Ajasin University have appealed to the Federal Government, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Ondo State Government to urgently intervene in what they described as a prolonged and devastating delay in their NYSC mobilization.

The affected graduates, who belong to the institution’s 2019–2024 set, said they graduated in September 2024 but more than two years later, most of them have yet to be mobilized for the mandatory national service scheme.

In a statement made available to SaharaReporters, the graduates blamed the situation on what they called “administrative bottlenecks” within the Department of Political Science Education, alleging that the department failed to properly process and submit their graduation records to the NYSC portal.

According to them, while graduates from other departments in the university have reportedly been mobilized in batches, students from Political Science Education remain stranded.
