Amazon Leo, formerly Project Kuiper, is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities beyond the reach of existing networks, and we began a full-scale deployment of our satellite constellation in April 2025. Amazon Leo completed 11 missions and launched more than 300 satellites in its first year of launch operations, making it the third-largest constellation in orbit, and we plan to increase our launch rate over time with more than 100 launches secured to date.Follow along here for updates on recent and upcoming Amazon Leo missions, and visit leo.amazon.com to learn more and sign up for updates.Latest mission updatesApril 30: Amazon Leo surpasses 300 satellites during dual-launch week across two continentsArianespace successfully deployed 32 Amazon Leo satellites into low Earth orbit aboard Ariane 6 in its four-booster Ariane 64 configuration. Named LE-02 (Leo Europe 2), the mission brings the total number of satellites deployed to more than 300.The launch follows an Atlas V mission earlier this week, marking two launches in one week across two continents and two launch vehicles as Amazon Leo continues scaling deployment of its constellation.Amazon Leo’s LE-02 mission launches from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana aboard an Arianespace Ariane 6 rocketPhoto by ArianespaceAriane 64 delivered the satellites to low Earth orbit at an altitude of approximately 465 kilometers. After separation, the Amazon Leo team assumed control of the satellites from our mission operations center in Redmond, Washington, where they complete initial health checks and prepare to raise satellites to their assigned operational orbit between 590 and 630 kilometers.Arianespace’s next mission is another mission for Amazon Leo—Leo Europe 3 (LE-03)—and that mission will feature a higher-performance variant of Ariane 64 with upgraded P160C boosters, enabling more satellites to be deployed per launch. Additional details on LE-03 will be available closer to the mission.Upcoming missionsA closer look at how Amazon Leo satellites are stacked on the dispenser across the full launch vehicle lineup, including Atlas V, Ariane 6, Vulcan, New Glenn, and Falcon 9.Photo by AmazonMission No. 12Mission name: LA-07 (Leo Atlas 7)Launch vehicle: ULA Atlas V 551Launch date/time: Friday, May 29, 12:27 p.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 29Launch site: Space Launch Complex-41, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationCompleted missionsMission No. 11Mission name: LE-02 (Leo Europe 2)Launch vehicle: Arianespace Ariane 64Launch date/time: Thursday, April 30, 1:57 a.m. PDT | 8:57 a.m. UTCNumber of satellites: 32Launch site: Guiana Space Centre, Kourou, French GuianaMission No. 10Mission name: LA-06 (Leo Atlas 6)Launch vehicle: ULA Atlas V 551Launch date/time: Monday, April 27, 8:52 p.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 29Launch site: Space Launch Complex-41, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationMission No. 9Mission name: LA-05 (Leo Atlas 5)Launch vehicle: ULA Atlas V 551Launch date/time: Saturday, April 4, 2026, 1:46 a.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 29Launch site: Space Launch Complex-41, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationMission No. 8Mission name: Leo Europe 1 (LE-01)Launch vehicle: Arianespace Ariane 64Launch date/time: Thursday, February 12, 2026, 8:45 a.m. PST | 4:45 p.m. UTC on Thursday, February 12Number of satellites: 32Launch site: Guiana Space Centre, Kourou, French GuianaMission No. 7Mission name: LA-04 (Leo Atlas 4)Launch vehicle: ULA Atlas V 551Launch date/time: Tuesday, December 16, 2025, 3:28 a.m. ESTNumber of satellites: 27Launch site: Space Launch Complex-41, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationMission No. 6Mission name: KF-03 (Kuiper Falcon 3)Launch vehicle: SpaceX Falcon 9Launch date/time: Monday, October 13, 2025, 9:58 p.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 24Launch site: Space Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationKuiper satellites liftoff aboard ULA's Atlas V rocket during the KA-03 missionPhoto by ULAMission No. 5Mission name: KA-03 (Kuiper Atlas 3)Launch vehicle: ULA Atlas V 551Launch date: Thursday, September 25, 2025, 8:09 a.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 27Launch site: Space Launch Complex-41, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationMission No. 4Mission name: KF-02 (Kuiper Falcon 2)Launch vehicle: SpaceX Falcon 9Launch date/time: Monday, August 11, 2025, 8:35 a.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 24Launch site: Space Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationProject Kuiper deployed 24 satellites aboard its KF-01 mission on a Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX Photo by Image: SpaceXMission No. 3Mission name: KF-01 (Kuiper Falcon 1)Launch vehicle: SpaceX Falcon 9Launch date/time: Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 2:30 a.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 24Launch site: Space Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationMission No. 2Mission name: KA-02 (Kuiper Atlas 2)Launch vehicle: ULA Atlas V 551Launch date/time: Monday, June 23, 2025, 6:54 a.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 27Launch site: Space Launch Complex-41, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationMission No. 1Mission name: KA-01 (Kuiper Atlas 1)Launch vehicle: ULA Atlas V 551Launch date/time: Monday, April 28, 2025, 7:01 p.m. EDTNumber of satellites: 27Launch site: Space Launch Complex-41, Cape Canaveral Space Force StationIf you’re interested in joining the team, explore our open roles.Learn more about Amazon Leo.On November 13, 2025, Project Kuiper was renamed as Amazon Leo.
