Prime Minister Narendra Modi will head to Sweden on Sunday (May 17, 2026) on his third leg of a five-nation tour. Mr. Modi has been invited to Sweden by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson. The PM’s visit will include official discussions between the two Prime Ministers and delegation-level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, Indian Ambassador Anurag Bhushan said. India and the Netherlands also inked a number of agreements to further enhance their cooperation in a range of areas. The Leiden University in Netherlands, who are in possession of Chola-era plates, also returned them to India. Our cooperation in areas of Water, healthcare and education has been making the lives of our people better,” he said.Mr. Modi also highlighted India’s economic growth.The Prime Minister suggested that there should be convergence of the Netherlands’ expertise and India’s “speed and skill” in every sector.“We need to take our cooperation in areas of innovation, investment, sustainability and defence to new heights.
