The newborn was reportedly stolen from the hospital three days before operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command launched an intensive investigation into the shocking incident.

As suspicion mounted over how a baby could vanish from a hospital facility without a trace, police investigators invited and questioned hospital workers who were on duty at the time of the disappearance.

In a breakthrough on Thursday morning, police operatives traced the missing infant to Kogin Audu, a nearby hamlet in Kaura Namoda, where the child was rescued alive.
