By Malay Mail Saturday, 16 May 2026 10:13 AM MYT KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 — Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit all northern states in Peninsular Malaysia as well as several areas in Pahang, Johor, Sabah and Labuan until noon today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).In a weather warning issued at 9am, MetMalaysia said the conditions are forecast to affect the whole of Perlis, Kedah and Penang, as well as Labuan.In Perak, the affected areas are expected to include Kerian, Larut, Matang dan Selama, Hulu Perak and Kuala Kangsar.For Pahang, the warning covers Rompin.In Johor, the districts expected to be affected are Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru.In Sabah, similar weather conditions are forecast in Kuala Penyu in the Interior division and Tawau district.
