It added that preliminary investigations carried out by security operatives did not support the viral claims.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismissed social media reports alleging an influx of Fulani herdsmen into Anguwan Dobi in the Gwagwalada Area Council, describing the claims as misleading and unverified.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, said police operatives were immediately deployed to the area and surrounding communities after videos and alarming messages began circulating online over an alleged security threat.

According to the police, officers who visited the community found no evidence of any unusual gathering, suspicious movement, or presence of persons matching the claims contained in the reports.

“The Command is aware of reports circulating on social media alleging an influx of Fulani herdsmen into Anguwan Dobi, Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, and suggesting an imminent security threat within the area,” the statement said.
