The nation’s biggest bank is getting a fashion makeover, with the Commonwealth Bank enlisting Australian designer Gabriella Pereira to create new uniforms for its frontline staff. The partnership follows a 40-year tradition that has seen the bank work with top Australian designers such as Carla Zampatti, Perri Cutten and Lisa Ho to create its corporate wardrobe.Ms Pereira is a former banker and founded Beare Park five years ago after identifying a gap in workwear that was contemporary and professional. The idea led Ms Pereira to make her mark on fashion, earning the 2024 Australian Fashion Laureate for Emerging Designer of the Year.CommBank chief marketing officer Jo Boundy said the partnership reflected the bank’s investment in its people, commitment to its customers and support of Australian businesses.“Our corporate wardrobe is one of the most visible expressions of our brand and plays an important role in how our people feel at work and how we show up for our customers,” she said.“ As we approach 40 years of partnering with Australian designers for our corporate wardrobe, we saw an opportunity to reimagine it for today – creating something our people feel proud to wear.”Ms Pereira said she understood how important it was to feel confident at comfortable in workwear.“This partnership is incredibly special to me – not only as a designer, but as a CommBank customer who has experienced the bank’s support in growing my business,” she said.“Our vision is to create a wardrobe that feels modern, functional and elevated, while reflecting the individuality and professionalism of CommBank’s people.”Read related topics:Commonwealth Bank
