An alleged door-to-door sales pest has been captured on camera subjecting a woman to verbal abuse after she refused his sales product.Victoria Police have confirmed they interviewed a Mernda man, 46, following a report of trespass at a business in Ravenhall, west of Melbourne’s CBD, on May 11.Speaking to 7News, business owner Mikaela Borg said she was left “frightened” and in tears after the man allegedly attempted to sell her vouchers to a local mechanic. She claimed the man became verbally aggressive when she asked him to leave.CCTV allegedly captures the visibly-frustrated man grabbing the camera, before telling Ms Borg “shut the door and … go jump in a lake”, before walking off.“I’m just frightened, obviously, to be in my own workplace,” she told 7News.“I didn’t know who he was – he wasn’t wearing ID.”But Ms Borg does not appear to be the only person who has allegedly been targeted by the man, with 7News reporting multiple other businesses have claimed the man has either confronted or harassed staff at businesses across Melbourne. In one CCTV clip, the same man in high-vis can be seen erratically screaming “oh I’m scared” at a completely different workplace, before swearing at staff. In another clip, the man allegedly attempts to approach people in a chiropractor’s waiting room – just hours after the alleged confrontation with Ms Borg.It is understood multiple people have voiced their concerns about the man on social media.Leon Callea, the owner of GM-F Performance in Ravenhall, told 7News he allowed the man to sell discount vouchers to his mechanic workshop after the Mernda man approached him, offering a business boost. But he quickly ended the arrangement after a complaint. In a statement, Victoria Police confirmed they had interviewed the man in relation to the initial claim of trespass at Ms Borg’s business on May 11.“It is alleged a man entered a warehouse on Katherine Dr and aggressively touted a business service about 3.40pm,” a spokeswoman said.“When the offer was declined by the sole occupant of the premises, the man became aggressive and refused to leave after being told to.“The man eventually left the premises. The spokeswoman said the Mernda man was interviewed and released pending summons, but did not disclose if charges had been laid.
