RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s minister of industry and mineral resources held a virtual meeting with Pakistan’s Minister of Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan and Minister of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Musadik Masood Malik.
Bandar Alkhorayef discussed ways to strengthen industrial cooperation between the two countries and opportunities to expand the investment partnership in a number of priority sectors, foremost among them fertilizers.
The meeting praised the strength of the historical relations binding the Kingdom and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the deep bilateral economic ties, reviewing opportunities to enhance industrial cooperation and the exchange of expertise in a number of areas, including human capacity development, the building of advanced industrial cities, and ready-built factories.
The meeting also discussed the most prominent challenges facing exporters in both countries and ways to secure exports, ensuring the flow of Saudi and Pakistani goods, noting the importance of enhancing integration in regional and international supply chains and supporting their stability and sustainability.
The meeting was attended on the Saudi side by the Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industry Affairs, Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, and the CEO of the Saudi Export Development Authority, Badr Al-Herbish, while the Pakistani side was represented by members of the Special Investment Facilitation Council.
