The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) has launched the production of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) at its Udyogamandal Complex, marking a major milestone in the company’s growth, diversification, and commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector.A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries), formally inaugurated the production by flagging off the first consignment of DAP.DAP is being produced through in-house modifications carried out in the existing NP Plant, which has an installed production capacity of 1,48,500 tonnes per annum. DAP is among the most widely used phosphatic fertilizers and plays a crucial role in agriculture by supplying essential nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus required for healthy crop growth.Meeting fertilizer demandWith the commencement of DAP production, FACT aims to strengthen its contribution to the agricultural sector by meeting the fertilizer requirements of farmers and agricultural customers. The fertilizer is expected to help improve soil fertility, support better root development, and enhance crop productivity.S. Sakthimani, CMD, FACT presided over the function. K.
