East Godavari District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary and Senior Civil Judge Yarlagadda Srilakshmi on Friday inaugurated a Legal Aid Help Desk exclusively for inmates of the women’s block at Rajahmundry Central Prison.
Interacting with the inmates, Ms. Srilakshmi said they could utilise the services of the help desk for filing bail petitions, appeals in higher courts, and availing free legal assistance from empanelled advocates.
She said undertrial prisoners would also have access to Para Legal Volunteers, who would help connect them with the concerned authorities and legal aid services.
