AIADMK legislator representing Oupalam constituency A. Anbalgan has been appointed as the Pro-tem Speaker of the 16th Legislative Assembly in Puducherry.
A five-time legislator, Mr. Anbalagan would be sworn-in as the Pro-tem Speaker by the Lieutenant Governor soon. After assuming office, the Pro-tem Speaker would administer oath to the newly-elected legislators.
“The Pro-tem Speaker and legislators are likely to get sworn-in on Monday. The Lt. Governor will administer the oath to the Pro-tem Speaker at Lok Nivas while the MLAs elect will get sworn-in at the Assembly,” said a ruling party member.
