The Nigerian-American Multicultural Council (NAMC), one of the leading Nigerian cultural organizations in the United States, has officially endorsed the Afro World Cup Tour (AWCT) 2026, the major African entertainment and cultural experience planned around the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States.
The organization pledged its support for the Carter Efe-led tour and promised to work closely with organizers to promote the initiative within Nigerian and African diaspora communities across Houston and other participating cities.
The endorsement was confirmed by Dr. Hakeem Tijani, Vice President of Community Partnerships at NAMC, during a visit to the Houston office of JMDL Consulting, organizers of the Afro World Cup Tour. During the meeting, he met with the Project Lead of AWCT, Lucky Felix Eyo, to discuss collaboration and community participation ahead of the tournament.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Tijani described the project as a strong platform for promoting Nigerian culture, African entertainment, and diaspora engagement during one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
He noted that the Afro World Cup Tour aligns with NAMC’s mission of showcasing Nigerian excellence, culture, and community values in the United States.
