MOSCOW, May 15. /TASS/. Russian troops liberated three communities in the Kharkov and Zaporozhye Regions and the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past week in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Friday.
"Yesterday, Battlegroup North units took control of the settlement of Chaikovka in the Kharkov Region through decisive operations. <…> Battlegroup South units liberated the settlement of Nikolayevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic in active offensive operations. <…> Battlegroup East units kept advancing deeper into the enemy’s defenses and liberated the settlement of Charivnoye in the Zaporozhye Region during the last 24-hour period," the ministry said in a statement.
Russian troops delivered one massive and two combined strikes by precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles on Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises, energy and transport infrastructure over the period of May 12-15 in response to Kiev’s attacks on civilian facilities, the ministry reported.
"On May 12-15 of this year, in retaliation to Ukraine’s terrorist attacks on civilian facilities on Russian territory, the Russian Armed Forces delivered one massive and two combined strikes by long-range precision weapons, including Kinzhal air-launched hypersonic ballistic missiles, and attack unmanned aerial vehicles, hitting enterprises of Ukraine’s military-industrial sector, fuel and energy, transport and port infrastructure sites used by the Ukrainian army, military airfields, sites for the assembly, storage and launch of unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition and fuel depots, and also temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries," the ministry said.
