United States Congressman, Riley M. Moore, has said that the U.S. has a responsibility to protect Christians facing what he described as “genocide” in Nigeria, warning that Washington may continue to engage more forcefully if Nigerian authorities fail to address the situation.

Moore stated this during a recent interview with conservative commentator Michael Knowles, where he accused the Nigerian government of failing to stop attacks against Christians in parts of the country.

Speaking during the interview, Moore said America, as a “Christian nation,” could not remain silent while Christians in Nigeria were allegedly being killed for their faith.

“Michael, we're a Christian nation. We are 100 percent, we are a Christian nation, and I think we have an obligation to do something here,” Moore said.
