Fresh controversy has erupted over alleged attempts to secure the release of Abuja-based cleric, Apostle Amos Isah, despite his recent remand by the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gwarimpa, Abuja, over allegations that he raped a 14-year-old girl.
Sources familiar with the case told SaharaReporters that unnamed “gatekeepers” and influential figures are mounting pressure on Court 18, presided over by Justice Modupe Osho-Adebiyi, to recognise an earlier bail granted by another court on health grounds.
According to one of the sources, the pastor was initially granted bail by Court 1 after his lawyers claimed he was suffering from tuberculosis and required urgent medical treatment outside custody.
However, critics of the bail arrangement argued that the cleric allegedly violated the conditions attached to the release almost immediately.
