Kabiru Umar, also known as Kabiru Sokoto, convicted for terrorism-related offences linked to the 2011 Madalla church bombing, has filed an appeal against the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The development was confirmed in a statement issued by his lawyer, Don Akaegbu, who said the appeal followed a review of the trial proceedings and the judgment delivered on 20 December 2013.
He also stated that an application for extension of time had been filed due to delays in commencing the appeal.
