The administration of United States President, Donald Trump, has been hit by another major shake-up after U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks abruptly resigned from his position on Thursday, deepening uncertainty within America’s immigration enforcement leadership.
An agency spokesperson confirmed Banks’ resignation, but declined to give any reason for the sudden resignation, according to Reuters.
Banks also did not immediately respond to requests for comments on his exit.
His resignation comes amid growing turnover among senior immigration officials under the Trump administration, with several key figures either removed, retiring, or being reassigned in recent months.
