Recounting the incident, he said the President directly questioned him about Elliot’s loyalty and alleged role in the crisis.

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has revealed how he almost lost his position in the Presidency over the alleged involvement of actor-turned-politician Desmond Elliot in the crisis surrounding the impeachment plot against the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.

Gbajabiamila made the disclosure while addressing constituents and party members during an interaction in Lagos State, where he spoke extensively about the political tensions that rocked the Lagos Assembly during the controversial Obasa leadership crisis last year.

According to him, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu personally summoned him to his private study in Abuja and confronted him over intelligence reports allegedly linking Desmond Elliot to the anti-Obasa moves within the Assembly.

“I almost lost my job as the Chief of Staff last year because of Desmond Elliot. You can go and verify with him,” Gbajabiamila said.
