Cairo University launched the first integrated and comprehensive institutional guide for the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research (Illustrative - Freepik).

Cairo University has released a “Guide to the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research” that the university says reflects its commitment to the ethical and responsible use of AI.

In a statement, the university said the guide was the first from an Egyptian university and hoped it could serve as an ethical institutional reference on the use of AI technology in scientific research. The guide is meant to balance innovation with academic integrity, boosting knowledge while strengthening regional competitiveness.

A Pioneering Step

Mohamed Sami Abdel-Sadek, the university’s president, said that issuing the guide was a pioneering step showing the university’s commitment to responsible research yet establishing ethical standards that ensure technology is used in a way that supports research while preserving its integrity.
