Sir – It is astonishing that the proposed development of the Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre and the construction of the MetroLink stop in St Stephen’s Green are being treated as separate developments. The obvious solution is to develop the shopping centre with the metro stop underneath. This would ensure a large and constant flow of people to support the planned hospitality outlets in the centre, and most importantly, it will prevent the needless destruction of a large area of St Stephen’s Green. – Yours, etc,BRENDAN O’BEIRN,Rathmines,Dublin 6.
