I recently received BLUETTI’s newest product, a very interesting one that is quite different from the normal portable power station lineup. The BLUETTI FridgePower* is designed specifically for use with refrigerators. Rather than trying to be a broad solution for all kinds of uses, it is tailored to be the perfect solution for backing up your fridge.

It can be a real hassle to pull a refrigerator out every time there’s a power outage or potential power outage in order to plug it into a backup power source, then push that big fridge back in place, and then have to do it all over again if another power outage or risk of power outage comes again in an hour, a day, a week, or a month.

Knowing that our refrigerator is probably our most important appliance, critical to keeping our food safe, BLUETTI came up with a solution. We should note that this is also thanks to battery technology evolving so much that such a system is now possible, practical, and cost efficient. Such a product was surely not an option 5 to 10 years ago. In any case, BLUETTI is the first I’ve seen come up with this specific solution.

Update 4/16: BLUETTI has now announced the price of the FridgePower as well as a campaign on Kickstarter with big discounts. So, I’m updating this article, adding the “Price & Availability” section below as well as modifying some of the text elsewhere appropriately.
