Chilling dashcam footage has captured the moment a powerful Ukrainian kamikaze drone struck a Russian military vehicle, reportedly leaving two soldiers dead. The footage, captured by a dash camera in a nearby Russian armed forces’ vehicle, shows a car driving down a dirt road with two Russian soldiers inside, Ukrainian publication Censor.NET reports.Moments later, the drone darts through the sky and strikes the vehicle from behind, leaving the car engulfed in a ball of flames as black smoke billows into the air. The soldiers inside the vehicle were killed instantly, according to the publication. It is not clear exactly when the attack took place.Fighting continued despite US-brokered ceasefireIt comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said fighting with Russia continued despite a brief US-brokered ceasefire, which expired on Monday, US time. The three-day truce was announced on Friday by US President Donald Trump, just hours before Russia’s World War II victory celebrations, with Mr Trump saying he hoped the ceasefire would mark “the beginning of the end” of the conflict. “Today there was no silence at the front, there was fighting. We have recorded all of this,” Mr Zelensky said in his daily address on Monday in the final hours of the truce. “We also see that Russia has no intention of ending this war; unfortunately, it is preparing new attacks,” he added.Mr Zelensky said it was “clear that the war in Iran is now drawing the most attention from America”.“But there is also a priority there and support from the American people to bring this war in Europe to an end as well.” Negotiations on the Russia-Ukraine war have so far led to nowhere and were sidelined by the Iran conflict. Mr Trump’s ceasefire announcement has raised some hope that US-led talks to end Russia’s invasion will be resumed.– With AFP
