Danish police used batons and detained activists during a protest outside the headquarters of shipping giant Maersk in Copenhagen, as demonstrators demanded the company halt shipments allegedly linked to Israel, Anadolu reports.
The protest was organized as part of the “Mask off Maersk” campaign on Wednesday, which accuses the Danish company of transporting weapons and goods connected to Israel despite international criticism over the war in Gaza.
According to Danish news outlet Arbejderen, around 100 police officers were deployed to disperse activists attempting to blockade the entrances to Maersk’s headquarters.
Photos and videos published by the outlet showed police officers using batons, dragging protesters away from the site and detaining several demonstrators.
