MANILA, Philippines – The peso sank to a fresh record low on Thursday’s close, as political uncertainty compounded market jitters driven by fears of a prolonged Middle East conflict.
The local currency weakened by 26 centavos to close at P61.64 per dollar, according to data from the Bankers Association of the Philippines.
