The wait for the next James Bond is officially over. Or at least the waiting-to-find-out-if-they’re-looking part. Amazon MGM Studios confirmed this week that auditions for the role of 007 have begun, issuing a statement that is both the most information the studio has shared publicly about the casting process and, simultaneously, almost no information at all.
"The search for the next James Bond is underway," the statement reads. "While we don't plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we're excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right."
The confirmation comes via Variety, which broke the news that auditions began several weeks ago, with Amazon MGM having enlisted one of the industry's most formidable casting directors to lead the search.
