Schools are soon expected to receive textbooks with the new syllabus for Classes 1-3 as the printing of the books will be completed by Friday.“About 48% of printing work of the newly designed syllabus for Classes 1 to 3 is in progress and 48% of the printed books have been sent to the districts. The rest of the printing works will be completed by May 15 and will be sent to the districts soon,” according to a press release from the Education Department.The printing of textbooks for the remaining classes have been completed and they have been sent to the respective districts. Notebooks, which would be distributed to students on the reopening day, have also reached most of the districts.The department also added that 95% of the free uniforms have been stitched which are undertaken by the Social Welfare Department. While 71% of the uniforms have been distributed to the districts, the rest are under way.The School Education Department has also instructed all the chief education officers to ensure that students who complete Class 5 and 8 and enrolled at nearby government schools to continue their education.
