May 14 (UPI) -- The Nashville Zoo announced a male southern pudu, the world's smallest species of deer, was born at the facility just in time for Mother's Day.
The zoo announced on social media that the baby was born May 8 to other Bosa and father Pacu.
"You can now see the family out in their habitat in Expedition Peru, though the fawn may not always be visible as he continues acclimating to his new surroundings," the zoo said.
