Six years ago, Orbitkey, known at the time mainly for their clever (and sometimes nerdy) key organizers, made a leap out of pockets and onto desktops.

The Nest launched as a double-duty desk and travel organizer with wireless charging and document/card storage in the securable lid so that you could take it on the road with you (assuming you're a maximalist packer).

Now in its second generation, the Nest is still one of the company’s most popular products. Not that it doesn’t have its drawbacks. As a multitasker, its capacity is limited by the fact that it needs to be transportable. Plus, with wireless charging and high-end materials, it commands a premium price. It starts to bump up against the "do I really need this?" rationalization, especially when what most of us are looking for is a way to wrangle the cruft that accumulates on our desks.
