May 14 (UPI) -- New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers underwent a second knee surgery this off-season, a source familiar with the procedure told UPI on Thursday.

The Giants hope Nabers will be ready for Week 1 of the 2026-27 season, but no firm timeline exists for his return. New York will host the Dallas Cowboys in their season opener Sept. 13 in East Rutherford, N.J.

Nabers tore the ACL in his right knee during a Sept. 28 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He missed the remainder of his second season.

The No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft made the Pro Bowl in his first season, when he caught 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven scores. He totaled 18 catches for 271 yards and two scores over four appearances in 2025.
