RIYADH: Riyadh hosted the signing of an agreement on Thursday to establish the first regional headquarters of the Institute of Internal Auditors outside the US.
The event was attended by President of the General Court of Audit and Chairman of the Saudi Authority of Internal Auditors Dr. Hussam Alangari, IIA President and CEO Anthony Pugliese, and CEO of the Saudi Authority of Internal Auditors Abdullah Alshebeili, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The agreement reflects the Kingdom’s standing as a global hub for business and professional expertise, and highlights its geographical, legislative, and economic strengths in line with Saudi Vision 2030, the SPA report stated.
Alangari said the agreement would facilitate knowledge transfer and build professional capacities in internal auditing.
Pugliese noted that Riyadh was chosen due to significant advances in the Kingdom’s internal audit profession and its role in supporting the profession’s growth across the region.
