Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has penned a book, titled Apnapan, on his 35-year-long association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Talking to reporters here on Thursday (May 14, 2026), Mr. Chouhan said the book was a deeply personal account of his close political and organisational association with the Prime Minister. Former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu will launch the book on May 26.
Mr. Chouhan said Apnapan offered readers an opportunity to understand Mr. Modi’s personality, leadership style, sensitivity and work ethic from a closer and more personal perspective. “The book gives expression to the experiences, emotions, inspirations and values he imbibed while working alongside Narendra Modi over the course of his long public life,” he said.
Work from home
On Mr. Modi’s call, Mr. Chouhan also decided to reduce his vehicle’s convoy and directed the Ministry officials to promote work from home. After a high-level meeting, the Ministry had decided to formulate an action plan on the possibilities for work from home. “Save the Farm” campaign would be launched to promote natural farming. The Ministry’s officers were told not to buy non-essential gold and the meeting urged all officers to motivate at least five others to not to buy gold.
