Haier, a Chinese household appliance manufacturer, is investing 5 billion baht to build a commercial air conditioner manufacturing plant in Rayong, with operations scheduled to begin in June 2027.The plant, covering approximately 76 rai, is located in the WHA Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate 5 in Rayong.

According to a press release, the facility will be the largest central air conditioning manufacturing base in Southeast Asia.

Dong Jianping, president of Haier Electrical Appliances (Thailand) Co Ltd, said the company expects production capacity to reach 800,000 units per year by 2028.

Haier aims to sell 30% of the products from this facility domestically, with the remainder exported to Southeast Asia, North America and South Asia.

Products manufactured at the facility include packaged terminal air conditioners, light commercial air conditioners, chillers, variable refrigerant flow systems, fan coil units, and data centre cooling equipment, according to Haier.
