Anthropic is experiencing major issues with rate limits on Claude Code, its agentic coding tool for developers, according to numerous accounts on online forums. Users are reporting that they are burning through monthly usage allotments in days, if not hours, and being forced to pay more for significantly worse levels of service.
One user, Pristine_Ad2701, described purchasing a $100 plan and seeing 37% of a five-hour usage limit consumed by a single, straightforward prompt focused on basic create, read, update and delete operations on a database. Shortly afterward, the session had reached roughly 70% of its limit, despite switching models, leaving the user concerned that the allotted usage could be exhausted in about an hour.
