May 13 (UPI) -- Colombian singer-songwriter Karol G will be honored at the American Music Awards in May.
Organizers announced in a press release Wednesday that Karol G, 35, will receive the International Artist Award of Excellence at the 52nd annual AMAs ceremony May 25.
Karol G, a Grammy-winning music artist known for the singles "Bichota," "Mamiii" with Becky G and "Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido," will also perform.
The International Artist Award of Excellence honors "an artist whose music and cultural influence has resonated globally, inspiring and impacting audiences around the world."
