As the State government on Wednesday announced the 400-point roster ahead of the recruitment process set to be restarted to fill 56,432 posts, the Karnataka State Government Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes Employees’ Association has taken objection to it, stating that it was not scientific.
It said that the first 50 roster points was unscientific and would have adverse effect on the SC community aspirants in appointment of Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts that included those of assistant commissioners, deputy superintendents of police and deputy directors, among many others. Calling the discrepancy in the roster prepared by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms “deliberate” to deny opportunities to SC community, the association petitioned five Dalit Ministers in the Cabinet, urging for a fresh scientific roster.
“Normally, the KPSC that recruits for Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts does not notify large numbers. If the notified posts are less than 50, it will affect the community candidates,” sources said. In the history of KPSC, big recruitments for particular posts in excess of 50 have never been done.
However, the sources said, the subsequent 50 roster points — 51 to 100 — have been fixed scientifically, and it would benefit the communities.
