Sonny Baker had played just one first-class match before joining Hampshire two years ago

England fast bowler Sonny Baker has signed a two-year contract extension with Hampshire to stay until the end of the 2028 season.

The 23-year-old moved to the club in 2025 from Somerset and has since taken 47 wickets in 22 matches (36 of those in 11 first-class matches).

He has been a regular presence for Hampshire at the start of the 2026 season, playing in four of their five County Championship matches, claiming 14 wickets.

"My main aims for this year were to earn the respect of the senior players by demonstrating more consistency in performance," Baker said.
