A longtime supporter of Donald Trump from Connecticut dialed in to a C-SPAN show this weekend to express his utter disappointment and frustration with how the president’s second term is playing out.
The man, named Edgar, told “Washington Journal” host Jasmine Wright that he’d backed Trump for the last decade and had been “definitely in line and agreement with a lot of the stuff that he spoke about.”
But now, the caller said he was “just a little confused” about Trump, who is increasingly catching heat, including from Republicans, over a cost-of-living crisis brought on, in part, by his tariffs and Iran war.
“I feel as though he’s taking a 180-degree turn on his priorities from what he promised us,” the caller complained. “We were expecting a golden age and all these positive things to happen. And I don’t feel as though that the economy has improved, gas prices are out of whack, and the fact that we’re in a war, and he said we’d never be in wars again.”
“He made a lot of promises and he’s changed,” he continued.
