The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP), Uttar Pradesh unit on Tuesday (May 12, 2026) announced that they will organise protests at all the district headquarters in U.P. against the alleged objectionable comment made by Samajwadi Party (SP) Lok Sabha MP Ajendra Singh Lodhi on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The BJP will organize massive protests at all the district headquarters of the state against the indecent and unbecoming remarks made by Samajwadi Party MP against the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The protest will be organized at the district level in the Collectorate premises, the party’s women officials, public representatives and workers will participate along with a large number. The indecent language being used by SP MP on personal level under the guise of political opposition is against the healthy tradition of Indian politics. The BJP will not tolerate this and will oppose the SP,” State General Secretary of the BJP Sanjay Rai said.
U.P. CM Yogi Adityanath described the comment as an insult to the trust of 145 crore countrymen and the democratic dignity of India. “The unparliamentary remarks made by an MP against the world’s most popular leader, respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji are not only indecent and unforgivable, but are also a serious blow to Indian democratic norms. This act reveals political misbehavior, ideological bankruptcy and disrespect for the decency of public life. This is also an insult to the mandate, trust of 145 crore countrymen and the democratic dignity of India. The people of the country will definitely give a reply to such unruly behavior when the time comes,” wrote Mr. Adityanath on X.
