The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday (May 12, 2026) condemned DMK leader and former Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin for his remarks on Sanatana Dharma in the State Assembly.

Through a post on X, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy said: “DMK’s poisonous politics, anti-Hindu rhetoric, corruption and dynastic politics have all been vehemently rejected by the people of Tamil Nadu. This is not the first time Rahul Gandhi-led Congress INDI alliance leaders have spewed venom against Sanatana Dharma -- the civilisational soul of Bharat.”

RSS’s Hosabale hits out at Udhayanidhi Stalin over Sanatan remarks, bats for dialogue with Pakistan

“It is high time for your prejudiced party to introspect before the people completely eradicate your divisive and dangerous party,” he said.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, "This is not a coincidence but an exercise in vote-bank politics...earlier the Supreme Court had called this hate speech but Congress supported this statement. Congress, TMC, SP, and DMK all have one plan: insult Sanatan Hindus to run their vote-bank politics.”
