Rod Stewart sang King Charles’ praises in London on Monday, telling the monarch he was “superb” in the way he dealt with “that little ratbag” during his state visit to the “Americas.”

Many outlets assumed the rock legend was talking about President Donald Trump. HuffPost has reached out to reps for Stewart for comment.

The “Maggie May” singer’s comment to Charles at a King’s Trust event at Royal Albert Hall certainly dissed someone on that U.S. trip, which included a visit with Trump at the White House and an address to Congress.

According to video posted by Sky News, Stewart told the king: “May I say, well done in the Americas. You were superb, absolutely superb; you put that little ratbag in his place.”

Charles appeared to laugh at the remark.
