Trump declares himself ‘the father of fertility’ at healthcare event

Donald Trump has called himself the “father of fertility” whilst speaking at a maternal healthcare event. During the event at the White House on Monday (11 May), the administration announced a proposal to expand workplace fertility benefits and insurance coverage. The US president praised Republican senator Katie Britt, who proposed the More Opportunities for Moms to Succeed (MOMS) Act, as being instrumental in his learning about women’s fertility. “She called me and said ‘Sir, we have to do something’, and I’m a quick learner so I learned everything there is to know in about three, four minutes and I became the father of fertility,” said the US president.
