Daughters of low-income workers in the city secured high marks in the Class XII State Board examination. They aspire to pursue careers in chartered accountancy and the civil services.

K. Mythily, who scored 593 marks, said she wished to become a Chartered Accountant. Her father, Anandakumar, who runs a laundry and ironing shop in Aminjikarai, said Mythily was the first girl in the family to complete Class XII. “Seeing her score such high marks is a proud moment for us,” he said.
