Substitute Rylah had Derry's best chance in the closing stages
Derry City's six game unbeaten run came to an end after a 1-0 defeat by Drogheda at Sullivan and Lambe Park.
The home side scored the only goal of the game on 55 minutes after Ryan Brennan converted from the spot.
The Candystripes pushed for a late leveller, but were denied by the woodwork in the closing stages.
Derry will aim to bounce back when they travel to Waterford, while Drogheda face Bohemians next.
