The data is in! The Social Security Administration has released its official list of the most popular baby names of 2025.

For the seventh year in a row, Olivia is the No. 1 name for girls, having surpassed Emma in 2019. Meanwhile, Liam holds steady as the most popular name for boys for the ninth straight year.

The SSA compiles the annual list based on the names parents in the U.S. chose for their babies born in the previous year. Although the top names for girls and boys remain unchanged from 2024, there were some interesting changes beyond those two.

For the first time ever, Eliana joined the top 10 ― knocking Ava down to No. 11. The name Eliana only first joined the list of 1,000 most popular names in 1986 and started steadily rising in the mid-90s.

Charlotte surpassed Emma and Amelia to take the second-place spot, and Sophia overtook Mia for No. 5.
